For fine and discerning palates, Artemisia cultivates, preserves and processes roses and other plant treasures in a completely natural way.
Behind Genoa, beyond the Giovi pass, we enter the
Scrivia Valley, land of the ancient Spinola family and its castles, protagonist
of the bloody conspiracy against the Doria family in January 1547 and later
holiday area of the people of Genoa, who enriched it with beautiful Art Nouveau
residences in the 20th century. At its heart lies the village of Montoggio, 500
metres above sea level, surrounded by nature, with 2000 inhabitants, the ruins
of the Fieschi castle and, above all, its syrup roses. There, in fact, as in
the entire upper valley, the environmental conditions are particularly
favourable to the cultivation of very old varieties of roses, selected over the
centuries, perfect for making syrups, petal jams, jellies, candies and
exquisite liqueurs. These are some of the food products cared for with artisan
wisdom by
Artemisia, which, in addition to roses, cultivates, preserves and
transforms herbs, flowers, berries and wild fruits 'in an absolutely natural
way' to make jams, jellies and sauces from cheese, infusions, salts, vinegars
and flavoured sugars.
