One of the most appreciated specialities of Giuseppe Buttiero's artisan
company in Cairo Montenotte (Savona) are the 'baci di dama', a sweet born in
nearby Tortona in Piedmont more than a century ago, formed by two biscuits held
together (baciati-kissed) by a layer of chocolate.
Buttiero prepares them with
a tasty mixture of hazelnuts or sweet almonds, or cocoa with sugar and butter. This line includes Baci del Moro soft pralines made of hazelnuts,
chocolate, sugar, honey and egg white, with dark chocolate filling. Cast in
baking tins, they are all assembled and filled by hand. 'Attention to details
makes our products unique and genuine pieces'.
