"Unique creations, expression of the moment as well as of thought”.
At Altare
in the province of Savona, furnaces have been in operation since the year 1000.
The Bormioli family has been carrying on the tradition of glassmaking since
1865, jealously handed down from father to son.
Two processing techniques are
used: the borosilicate glass blowpipe, a modern version of furnace blowing, and
glass fusion. The candlesticks, Christmas balls, perfume holders, decorations
and objects for the house "are not 'products' for us, but unique
creations, expressions of the moment as well as of thought".
The 'L'AtêLier' line offers decorative
plates, Bullseye glass frames and jewellery that harmonise glass with
semi-precious stones, silver, wood and other materials. The passion for the art
of glass sees the Bormioli laboratory at the centre of cultural and training
initiatives such as the important organisation of educational and professional
courses.
