"The delicate aroma of olive oil and the fragrance of laurel oil relaxes mind and body".
La.Chi.D,
which has been creating handicraft products for body care and beauty since
1982, is also one of the rare Italian producers of Aleppo Soap, a solid
detergent invented - an estimated 3,000 years ago - by Syrian craftsmen in the
city of Aleppo and which, having arrived in Europe following the Crusades, gave
rise in Italy, France and Spain to the first production of all solid soaps.
Still produced today according to ancient traditional methods (La.Chi.D. takes
about a year to make it), it is 100% natural because it contains no synthetic
substances, additives or perfumes, nor substances of animal origin. It contains
exclusively olive oil reacted with a strong base to which is added a variable
percentage of laurel oil obtained by extraction from the pulp of the berries.
The higher
the percentage of laurel oil contained, the greater the soap's value, but also
the greater the care taken in using it for its effective antibacterial,
purifying and anti-inflammatory as well as cleansing properties.
In the
La.Chi.D. workshop of Francesca Terlizzi in Genoa, it is produced in three
gradations of 16, 32 and 60 per cent. "The scent of Aleppo Soap produced
according to the millenary tradition of Syrian craftsmen recalls the delicate
aroma of olive oil and the fragrance of laurel oil capable of relaxing body and
soul".
