Fabrizia Caleari fell in love with photography at the age of fifteen. Since then, she has never been able to do without her camera. It was her great-grandfather, Rudy Caleari, an esteemed photographer in the city of Fiume (today’s Rijeka) who passed down to her the genes of an “image hunter”. Fabrizia opened her Chiaroscuro studio a stone’s throw away from the Abbey of San Matteo, in the very heart of Genoa’s old town. At Chiaroscuro’s, customers can admire and purchase professional photographs signed by the author and numbered, ask for traditional photography services, and, most of all, find everything a photographer may need – from high-quality films to printing services – to take wonderful black-and-white pictures, something any lover of analogue photography would fall for.
